Fort Sheridan Building 705 (Motorpool).  The streets are not well marked.  

DIRECTIONS:

From Highwood, turn off Sheridan Rd into post (you will pass between two yellow barriers and over a large speed bump).  Take the first right (sign isn't readable).  You will pass a motorpool and large brick building on your right.  Keep going until the road starts to turn left.  You will see parking on your right and big military vehicles on your left.  Park there. 

Please wear your cub scout uniform.

Please dress for weather, rain or shine.

The scouts and parents will be pulling weeds, putting card board over the area of pulled weeds, and lastly hoeing some of the gardens. 

  • The cub scouts parent and child must complete a consent form.

Deerfield 4th Of July Parade

Our Pack has the opportunity to march in the Deerfield 4th of July parade.  We will be marching with all the other scouts in the community and passing out scouting wristbands.  We are marching right behind the Deerfield American Legion at the front of the parade.  


11:30 AM The line up location is at the Deerfield Road entrance to Deerspring Pool at 11:30 on July 4th.   We will be lining up close to the entrance.


Uniforms All scouts should wear their class A or B uniform.  


What To Bring    Bring a water bottle to drink during the Parade so you can stay hydrated.  Wear sun screen, a hat and your sun glasses to protect you from the sun.   If your son or daughter has a cell phone, you may want them to bring it with them.   Parents, you may walk with your scout if you wish.  


Parade Ends at Hazel and Park Ave. and you can loop back to Hazel and watch the remainder of the parade.   You may wish to park on the West side of the RR tracks.   Plan a specific place to meet your scout at the end of the Parade route near Hazel and Park Ave.

Ill Beach Clean Up - Service Project

Help get Illinois Beach State park ready for the camping season!  Volunteers will rake, pick up branches, and do other projects as needed in the park campground and surrounding area near the beach.

Suitable for Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers, OA, Youth Groups, Community Groups, and pretty much everyone who can use a rake or pull a tarp. This is a great way to earn those volunteer hours required for advancement or honor societies.

Registration includes Lunch, snack, & beverages (hot or cold as needed) throughout the working day, as well as a patch commemorating the event.

Be prepared for the weather! This time of year the weather is changeable, so bring warm/waterproof shoes/boots, layered clothes so you can add or remove as needed, and be sure to have work gloves.

Bring your own tools!  BE SURE TO LABEL THEM!!!

Quiver Fest - For Cub Scouts of All Ages!

Join us for Quiver Fest, a Cub Scout archery extravaganza sponsored by Pack 83 and open to all Cub Scouts in the Northeast Illinois Council and beyond! Cub Scouts of all ranks (Tiger - Webelos) will be able to earn their Shooting Sports Award and/or Archery Pin! To register, please select a time slot. Payment will be made on the day of the event (the event coordinators are able to accept cash, check, or credit at the event). For event questions, please contact pack83archery@gmail.com. PLEASE NOTE: Big Foot Archers is an INDOOR range, so we will shoot regardless of the weather!

EVENT INFORMATION:

COST: $10 per scout, $9 per adult, $5 per sibling. 

ARRIVAL: Please arrive 15 minutes before your session time to ensure that the event runs on time. 

You will be assigned a specific time between 10 am - 3 pm

The Annual Aptakisic District Dinner is a chance for all Scouting Volunteers in the district to fellowship and recognize the good work of individual Scouters. The District Award of Merit will be awarded, along with Outstanding Leader, Silent Service and Scouting Spirit Awards. Veteran Awards will also be handed out and leaders that have earned Training Knots and other national awards through out 2018 will be recognized.

The District Dinner will be held at

Veterans Day Program

Walden and the Walden PTO are sponsoring a Veterans Day program for Walden school, veterans and community-at-large at on Friday, November 9, at 9:00 a.m. in the Walden gym.   

Pack 450 scouts and Girl Scouts/brownies will assist in leading the Pledge of Allegiance during the opening of the event.  
We ask that Pack 450 scouts show strong support by dressing in their class A (blue) uniform.  

It is a great honor, as we will be following Great Lakes Naval Base sailors who will open the event with a formal color guard.

Cub Scouts and their friends, family, dens, or packs can fish, travel a haunted trail, enjoy a hay ride, complete spooky STEM activities, visit a petting farm, shoot archery, and much more. Boo Camp features 8-12 activities and new special guests each year.

Unique advancements not typically earned during the course of the Cub Scout year are offered, and portions of other activities may meet requirements for your Cub Scout's adventures.
